Eden Gardens (Bengali: ইডেন গার্ডেন্স) is a cricket ground in Kolkata (previously called Calcutta), India. It is the home of the Bengal cricket team and the Indian Premier League's Kolkata Knight Riders, as well as being a Test and One Day International ground.[2] It is the largest cricket stadium in India by seating capacity. It is widely acknowledged to be the most iconic cricket stadium in the country.

History of Cricket :
Cricket is a sport played between a bat and bowl in a team consists of 11 players. The first game registered was in southern England in the 16th century. By the end of the 18th century, cricket became the national sport of England. The popularity and expansion of the England team led to cricket being played overseas and by the mid-19th century the first international matches were being held. Today, the cricket governing body, the International cricket council (ICC), has now over 100 member countries. With its greatest popularity in the Test playing countries, cricket is now the world's second most popular sport after FIFA Association.

The first cricket match on earth was played between America and Canada.This match took place between 25th and 27th September 1844 at the St George's Cricket Club, Bloomingdale Park in New York. Mohammad Asim Kamal (born May 31, 1976 in Karachi) is a test cricketer for the national team of Pakistan who scored 99 against South Africa on his Test debut at Qaddafi stadium Lahore.
The special thing about him is that:
"He is also one of the batsman to score a boundary on the first ball of his debut ODI (one day International) vs Zimbabwe at Sheikh Zayed cricket stadium Abu Dhabi".
2.Lance Klusener:
Lance Klusener (born 4 September 1971 in Durban, South Africa) is a cricketer, more specifically an all-rounder. He is known for his aggressive batting and his fast-medium swing bowling. He is nicknamed "Zulu" because of his fluency in that language. Following his exploits at the 1999 World Cup, he topped the ICC ODI Batting rankings.He was awarded as man of the world cup 1999 for his blast batting.The special thing about is that "He belongs to South African army."
3.Ajantha Mendis:
Balapuwaduge Ajantha Winslo Mendis (born March 11, 1985 in Moratorium) is a cricketer who plays for the Sri Lankan national cricket team.
Mendis, although classified as slow-medium, bowls a mixture of deliveries, including googlies, off-breaks, top-spinners, flippers and leg-breaks, as well as the Carrom Ball, released with a flick of his middle finger. For Sri Lanka Army in 2007-08 he averaged a mere 10.56 and took 46 wickets in six games, his strike rate a startling 31. This gained him a call-up to the full Sri Lanka squad for the Caribbean tour in April 2008.
The special thing about him is that "Following basic training he played for the army team and saw active military service as a Gunner in the Sri Lanka Artillery,a regiment of the Sri Lanka Army. Following the Asia Cup final, he has been promoted to the rank of Sergeant on 7 July 2008 and the next day commissioned as a Second Lieutenant".

Andrew Symonds (born 9 June 1975, Birmingham, England) is a former Australian cricket team all-rounder. A two-time World Cup winner, Symonds is a right-handed middle order batsman and alternates between medium pace and off-spin bowling.He was the member of Australian word cup winner teams of 2003 and 2007.
The special thing about him is that "Symonds has been a keen supporter of the Brisbane Broncos since childhood and was considering a switch to rugby league in 2002 when his cricket career was faltering, but ultimately decided to stay in cricket. On 21 June 2009 he played a game for the Wynnum Manly Seagulls against an all star team featuring some noted players including Marcus Bai and Steve Renouf. He has also trained with the Brisbane Broncos in the past. In 2011 he played in the inaugural 'Legend of Origin' match to support victims of the Queensland floods.
